e·piph·a·ny
[i-pif-uh-nee]

a sudden, intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential meaning of something, usually initiated by some simple, homely, or commonplace occurrence or experience.

I've experienced an epiphany thru a conversation thanks to a wonderful person who in the past, has always been there to "catch" me when ever I would "fall" and as always the timing was simply, perfect.

Never again will I forget my roots.

NEVER.

2008 resolutions

So "New Years Resolutions" may seem overrated, honestly I can't even remember what my resolutions were for 2007! But i'm determined to accomplish all of this for 2008 so... here it goes!

  1. Develop a stronger and deeper relationship with God.
  2. Spend $$$ wisely and save more!
  3. Change my major and get my damn diploma within 3 semesters.
  4. Get in shape.
  5. Eat healthier.
  6. Drink more water.
  7. Drink less soda.
  8. Help out more strangers in need.
  9. Travel to either NYC, Hawaii or somewhere i've never been to.
  10. Get lost in that place for a good 2 hours or so, wherever it will be.
  11. Have more road trips.
  12. Go to a concert or two.
  13. Direct, shoot, edit at least 2 music videos/short films.
  14. Finish writing a rough draft for any of the handful of movie ideas I have in my head.
  15. Smile more.
  16. Worry less.
  17. Avoid cursing especially at others (particularly at bad drivers) instead say things like "God bless you." or "I hope that doesn't get you into an accident."
  18. STOP complaining.
  19. Finalize my future business plans within the summer.
  20. Eliminate the virus that is “procrastination”
  21. Be punctual. (AKA stop functioning on the dreaded "Filipino time")

That's all I got for now, what's yours?

Where do I start where do I begin?

The summer of '07 has come and gone and its been 6 weeks into the Fall semester. Where can I possibly begin? Obviously a lot of things have happened and I'll admit i've come to become lazy with writing blogs but i've been feeling that, I don't know... "nagging" feeling that I should get back into writing blogs and so, here I am.

Instead of rewinding back into the summer, i'll just keep anyone who even bothers to waste time reading my blogs up to speed with what is going on in my life right now.

I'm still attending school and its my 3rd year at the local community college. Instead of working for a regular "Associate of Arts" degree which simply equals to a "Transfer" degree for the local university, UNR. I've been thinking a lot about majoring in Journalism.

Waitaminute! WHAT!? HOW!? WHY!?

Well, I guess I can say it all started when I signed up for the Journalism 101 class a few semesters ago. It sparked my interest in writing news and the mass media as well and from then on, i've taken "next level" Journalism classes ever since, now i'm the Editor for the schoolpaper. Its pretty cool, in fact, last semester I wasn't even sure if I wanted to take "the job" but I did and I love it! Weekly deadlines, monday morning chaos! It gives me the complete feel of what it must be like to have a set deadline every week.

What about Film and my passion for directing?

Its still there, though I will be honest, I haven't been able to do anything with it lately because i've been so caught up with school and life. I do miss it and I hope to come back to it sooner than later. Fortunately the first Philippine Culture Night we had earlier this year gave me a directing "exercise" and also opened my eyes to the wonderful world of theatre! I may not be directing short films or music videos but I am still directing stage productions! So at least i'm still using my "directing" talents to good use.

I'm also the President of the Philippine United Students Organization at school. I was elected last semester and accepted the responsibility as well. Months ago I thought, "What the hell am I doing? This is too much!" But now I realize that I was chosen for a reason especially with my talents I might as well put it to good use I guess its also safe to say that its my job to up the ante for the club as well. Last week we held our first food booth for the school year and it was awesome! Of course it was exhausting but it was all worth it.

Asides from those two huge responsibilities, I am taking 2 classes; Journalism and Math. I'm still a Youth coordinator for the local Filipino youth group, a Parish Council member at my parish, Immaculate Conception, and while those maybe mostly "part time" responsibilities i'm still a "FULL TIME" Son, brother, friend and boyfriend.

Its amazing that I have the energy to do the things i'm doing right now. I never even thought I would ever be President of PUSO or Editor of the school paper. I've come to know a few people who have so much to do and are way busier than I am and now its my turn to experience what it must be like. God threw me a curve ball and thank goodness I caught it and haven't dropped it just yet. Life is awesome and i'm glad to be living the life he has blessed me with.

Its getting colder and believe it or not, we have experienced actual rain up here in the last week. I can smell Fall and Winter just right around the corner which reminds me the holidays are coming real quick and I can hardly wait.

'til next time.
